Google is expected to launch the next version of its small tablet Nexus 7 soon, a report from Cnet said. In July last year, the first generation Nexus 7 was launched.
The report also says Japan Display Inc. and AUO may make the display for the next Nexus 7, while Quanta may manufacture the tablet.
The first generation Nexus 7 has Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, quad-core CPU, 1 GB ram and sports a 1280x800 HD display and a front-facing camera. It was manufactured by Taiwan-based Asus. Meanwhile, latest reports suggests that the next variant of Nexus 7 will be powered by a Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor instead of Nvidia and will have a better display of maybe 1,920 x1, 200 pixels.
Google expects to beat Apple by launching Nexus 7 first before the Cupertino, California-based tech giant ships its next generation of iPad Mini. Market analysts expect the next iPad mini to arrive in the third quarter or later during the holiday season.
