Two Arrested In $3.5 Million Marijuana Bust

Authorities in Oxnard, California have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the discovery of 1,000 marijuana plants discovered in a warehouse.

Local television station KNBC reports that anonymous tips led to a month-long investigation into the warehouse in Oxnard, and that last Friday authorities obtained a search warrant for the premises.

Brandon Cowgill and Julia Danilkevich were both arrested at the scene and charged with the suspicion of cultivating marijuana and with conspiracy.

The two are accused of maintaining a grow operation that used approximately $150,000 worth of hydroponic growing equipment inside the warehouse.

Authorities also found ultraviolet lights, water pumps, air filters, plants and 20 pounds of dried marijuana estimated to be worth approximately $3.5 million.

Both suspects are being held on $250,000 bail bonds.
