Traffic Stop In Massachusetts Leads To Money And Cocaine Seizure

Authorities in Beverly, Massachusetts have arrested two men who allegedly tried to swallow their drugs after being pulled over in a traffic stop on Friday.

The Salem News reports that officer Tom Nolan pulled the car over for having windows tinted, but that the vehicle did not immediately stop. When the car eventually did stop, the officer ordered the vehicle's two occupants to get out of the car.

"Officer Nolan suspected both men were attempting to secrete drugs by swallowing them," said a press release about the incident. "Once out of the vehicle Officer Nolan was able to recover 2 small twists of cocaine from Rudy Reyes."

Authorities later found more "corner twists" in the car believed to be cocaine. In addition to the $950 worth of cocaine confiscated, $2,330 in cash was confiscated from the two men as well.

The two men were both charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, drug violation within 500 feet of a school, as well as conspiracy to violate drug laws.
