China's foreign direct investment, or FDI, rose only modestly in May, reports said Tuesday, citing data from the Ministry of Commerce.
The FDI rose 0.29 percent year-on-year in May to $9.26 billion. In April, FDI totaled $8.4 billion, which was 0.4 percent higher than a year earlier.
In the first five months of the year, FDI increased 1.03 percent compared with the same period last year.
China's non-financial overseas direct investment climbed 20 percent year-on-year in January-May to $34.3 billion, data showed.
