GlaxoSmithKline Gets Offer From Aspen For Thrombosis Brands

U.K.-based drug maker GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK, GSK.L) Tuesday said it received an offer for its thrombosis brands and Notre-Dame de Bondeville or NDB site from Aspen Global Incorporated and Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited. The financial terms for the offer were not disclosed, but the deal includes the transfer of the brands, Arixtra and Fraxiparine (excluding China, India and Pakistan) to Aspen, along with the related manufacturing site and the majority of employees at NDB in France and certain dedicated commercial employees.

GSK will respond to the offer subject to consultation with employees and the relevant works councils, and a time period has been agreed with Aspen. GSK said the proposed transaction comes in line with its strategy of focusing on products with the most growth potential and the delivery of its pipeline.
