NYC Weatherman, Wife Charged In Domestic Dispute

Well-known New York City weatherman Bill Evans and his wife have been arrested after a domestic dispute Friday, the New York Daily News is reporting.

Evans, 52, and his wife, Dana, 48, turned themselves into the Greenwich police in Connecticut, where they live.

The couple are going through a divorce after 19 years of marriage.

Bill is the senior weatherman at WABC in New York.

Both were charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after an argument in their Greenwich, Conn., home on May 4.

"Bill and Dana are presently going through a difficult divorce," lawyer Phillip Russell, said.

"Our understanding is that on May 20, more than two weeks after an argument, Dana was advised by her divorce attorneys to file the complaint, which led to the police investigation."

Dana allegedly sought counseling at a local domestic violence center before going to police, the New York Post is reporting.

Evans has been a weatherman at WABC since 1989.
