U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will release the 2013 Trafficking In Persons (TIP) Report at a ceremony to be held at the State Department headquarters in Washington, DC, on Wednesday.
"As required by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, the TIP Report assesses governments around the world on their efforts to combat modern slavery. The 13th annual TIP Report includes narratives of 188 countries and territories," the State Department said in a press release.
During the event, Kerry will honor the 2013 TIP Report Heroes, men and women whose personal efforts have made an extraordinary difference in the global fight against modern slavery.
The function will be attended by members of the diplomatic corps, non-governmental and international organization representatives, and anti-trafficking activists, the press release added.
