Chinese smartphone maker Huawei unveiled Ascend P6, touted as the world's slimmest smartphone.
Ascend P6 is super thin 6.18 mm, 120 grams phone, compared to Apple iPhone 5 which measures 7.6 mm and Samsung Galaxy S4, which is 7.9 mm thick. The Ascend P6 has an 8 MP rear camera, and also sports an unusual 5 MP front-facing camera, which can be used for taking high-quality self-portraits.
The 4.7-inch Ascend P6 is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and runs on the latest Android Jelly Bean version. However, Huawei has also put its own proprietary user interface Emotion UI. The phone has a 2000 mAh battery in its metallic body, 2 GB ram and 8 GB internal memory, which can be expanded with memory card.
The smartphone's 1.5GHz quad-core processor, might be slower than Samsung's flagship smartphone Galaxy S4, which boasts of a 1.9GHz quad-core or a 1.6GHz octa-core processor. Ascend P6's battery capacity is also poorer than that of S4. However, Huawei claims that its battery optimization and power saving technology improves its performance by more than 30 percent.
