Microsoft's Outlook.com is bookmarked by many as their favorite for managing multiple email addresses. Way back in 2006, "linked accounts" feature was introduced, which made the process of switching between different accounts with the user's email address, simpler. But now, Outlook.com in its official blog said that over the next few months, it would stop the "linked accounts" service and shift to "aliases."
Citing security concerns as one of the main reasons to stop this service, the firm says that the upcoming one is a more secure and durable solution. The tech giant added that the new system is comprised of an account that enables the user to login not only into the mail, but also into Xbox, Office365 and the other services.
Until now, with the "linked accounts," the users have been able to sign into Outlook.com on the web and then easily shift to any other linked account. Lamentably, this was an easy task for the hackers. However, "aliases" is expected to make up for this, by allowing users to hold multiple email addresses, but with different passwords.
