Poland's Industrial Output Falls In May

Poland's industrial production declined 1.8 percent in May from the previous year, data from the Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday. The decline was better than the expected 1.9 percent fall but reversed last month's 2.7 percent rise.

Month-on-month, industrial production dropped 0.7 percent in May, which was larger than the 0.2 percent decrease forecast by economists.

Manufacturing output was down 2 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply slipped 2.1 percent annually. Meanwhile, mining output rose 0.5 percent.
