Authorities in Alpharetta, Georgia outside Atlanta have recently seized 188 pounds of marijuana from an unoccupied grow house.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that officers had originally been sent to the house to look at a garage door that had been left open. When they got to the house, officers came across the large marijuana growing operation.
"Alpharetta officers responded and determined the residence was unsecured," said police spokesman George Gordon. "They began a check of the premises to ensure there was no suspect on scene committing a crime or any other illegal activity taking place."
The drugs seized carry an estimated street value of $850,000.
Authorities also confiscated over 250 marijuana plants from the premises.
While authorities have a person of interest in the case, no one has been arrested yet.
