U2 Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. Reveals Dyscalculia Diagnosis

U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Dyscalculia.

Mullen opened up about the learning disability, a version of dyslexia, in a recent interview with Times Radio.

The disability makes it difficult for the affected to understand numbers and do math, which impacts skills like reading music.

"I've always known that there's something not particularly right with the way that I deal with numbers. I'm numerically challenged. And I realized recently that I have dyscalculia, which is a sub-version of dyslexia. So I can't count [and] I can't add," Mullen said.

"When people watch me play sometimes, they say, 'you look pained'," Mullen told Times Radio. "I am pained because I'm trying to count the bars. I had to find ways of doing this — and counting bars is like climbing Everest."

English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams and American singer and actress Cher have previously disclosed that they struggled with Dyscalculia.
