Adobe To Enhance Web Content Search With Adobe Flash Technology - Update

Tuesday, software maker Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE) announced it would provide its Adobe Flash Technology to search industry companies, to improve search results of dynamic web content and Rich Internet Applications or RIAs.

Websites that incorporate the Adobe Flash Player and other dynamic content are not retrievable by search engines. With Adobe's Flash Technology, these websites will no longer have to alter their content to make it searchable.

The technology will be made available primarily to Google Inc. (GOOG) and Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) to enhance search engine indexing of the Flash file format or SWF. Google has already commenced incorporating the technology into its search engine. Yahoo will be updating this technology in the future.

Danny Sullivan, the editor-in-chief at SearchEngineLand.com, stated that the changes should help unlock information that had previously been 'invisible' and will likely result in a better experience for searchers.

ADBE closed Monday's regular trading session at $39.39, down 41 cents. ADBE has trended the past year in the range of $30.70 - $48.47 on a volume of 6.54 million shares.
