Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd. (DSKYF.PK) reported first quarter net income of 25.08 billion yen, compared to 41.41 billion yen in the prior year quarter. Net income per share for the quarter was 34.88 yen.
Net sales for the quarter fell to 203.73 billion yen from 235.54 billion yen in the year-ago quarter.
Looking ahead, the company expects fist-half net sales to be 400 billion yen and predicts first half net income of 30 billion yen. The company also estimates six-month basic net income per share to be 41.73 yen
The company predicts fiscal 2009 net sales to be 840 billion yen. The company estimates fiscal 2009 net income of 80 billion yen. The company anticipates fiscal 2009 basic net income per share of 111.27 yen.
