Blue Coat Systems (BCSI) reported first quarter EPS of $0.16 after the close Thursday, which was in line with the consensus estimate. The company expects to report second quarter EPS of $0.15 to $0.20, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.20.
Blue Coat Systems gapped up sharply Friday and climbed during the first hour of trade, to finish higher by $3.12 at $19.00 on above average volume. The stock rose above a 2-week range to close at a 2 1/2 month high.
