Linear Technology Corp. (LLTC), a manufacturer of linear integrated circuits, said Friday that it is disappointed with the ruling of Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in one of the two patent infringement lawsuits filed by the company against Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc. (AATI).
The Court of Appeals affirmed the US International Trade Commission, or USITC, Administrative Law Judge's, or ALJ, finding that the asserted claims of one of the two Linear patents that Linear had litigated against Advanced Analogic were invalid over the prior art.
However, the ALJ had previously ruled that Linear's second patent was valid, and infringed by certain AATI products. The ALJ also ordered those AATI products to be excluded from importation into the U.S.
Linear, on appeal, is seeking to broaden the court's ruling to include more of AATI's products.
"Should the Court agree with Linear, we believe it will enhance other related exclusionary proceedings brought by Linear against AATI currently pending at the USITC," John England, Corporate and Intellectual Property Counsel for Linear, said.
LLTC is trading at $32.55, down $0.70, on a volume of 956,396 shares.
AATI dropped $0.01 and is trading at $4.60, on a volume of 43,403 shares.
