Oil reserves have been discovered in the northern regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to an energy official of that Balkan country.
The Kuwait News Agency quoted Djamil Vlahovliak, director of the Bosnian Energy Complex, as saying that many US and Arab oil-producing companies have expressed interest to conduct oil exploration in the field.
The government reciprocated positively to that by deciding to enter into agreements with major oil companies. They will be asked to launch serious oil exploration processes in line with well-known commercial criteria and basics, he said Friday.
He added oil experts told him that initial explorations found oil at five sites in Bosnia, but they are not sure if such quantities would be enough for commercial exploration and marketing.
