President Barack Obama will host a trilateral summit with the leaders of Pakistan and Afghanistan at the White House next week.
"In order to raise the level of the dialogue, accelerate the process of cooperation between the two countries, and implement the new strategy formulated by the United States, President Obama will host at the White House President Karzai of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and President Zardari of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
In addition to the summit, Obama will meet separately with each leader, Gibbs said, in order to discuss the unique issues in the relationship between the U.S. and each country. The presidential meetings will be held Wednesday, and other official meetings and talks will continue Thursday.
