Madonna reached the top of the singles chart with "Take A Bow" on February 25, 1995.The song was featured on the Material Girl's 1994 album "Bedtime Stories," which also included the hit "Secret." "Take A Bow" was co-written and co-produced by Babyface, who also co-wrote hits like Toni Braxton's "You're Makin' Me High" and Eric Clapton's "Change the World."The track benefitted from its video, a big-budget period piece that featured Madonna as the lover of a bull fighter in Spain. Directed by Michael Haussman and co-starring real-life bull fighter Emilio Muñoz, the concept of the video was in part meant to help Madonna land the lead role in the movie version of "Evita," a part she would ultimately score. There would eventually be a sequel to the "Take A Bow" video. Madonna's "You'll See" was also directed by Haussman and also starred Emilio Muñoz."Take A Bow" took over the top spot from TLC's "Creep." It held on for seven weeks before finally relinquishing the number-one position to "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan.
