1994 - Oasis Release First Single ‘Supersonic’

Oasis released their debut single, “Supersonic,” on April 11, 1994. The track was released as the lead single from the band’s first album, “Definitely Maybe,” and was originally released along with the B-sides “Take Me Away,” "I Will Believe" (Live), and "Columbia" (White Label Demo).

The band wrote the song based off a jam in the studio with producer Mark Coyle. While speaking with Melody Maker in 1994, Noel Gallagher explained that the lyrics came quickly:

“I had about an hour to write the lyrics for this song. So I sat down with a piece of paper and bottle of gin and just wrote that down. Then I read it back and thought ‘F**king hell, I’m a weird c**t me.’”
