1991 - Riot At Guns N Roses Show
1991 - Riot At Guns N Roses Show

Fans erupted into a riot at Guns N’ Roses performance at the Riverport Amphitheater (now the Verizon Wireless Center) near St. Louis, Missouri on July 2, 1991. The incident occurred after frontman Axl Rose jumped into the crowd and attacked a fan who was reportedly taking photographs.

After repeatedly mentioning the fan to security and asking them to eject the fan, Rose took matters into his own hands and leapt into the audience. After a physical altercation with fans, Rose was pulled back onto the stage, where he announced that the show was over and the band was leaving.

He then slammed the microphone onto the stage, making a sound similar to a gun shot. This sent fans into a riotous state in which many of them were injured. Guitarist Slash attempted to quell the riot by telling fans that no shot had been fired, but his attempts were in vain. Charges were filed against Rose that were later dismissed.
