Oasis, who would go on to become one of the biggest rock acts of the 1990s, released their debut album, "Definitely Maybe," on August 30, 1994.The band had formed around brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher in Manchester, U.K., earlier in the decade. The album, which included songs like "Supersonic," "Shakermaker" and "Live Forever," was a number one hit in the U.K., though it sold far more slowly across the Atlantic."Definitely Maybe" only reached number 58 in the U.S., and Oasis would have to wait for their smash 1995 effort "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" to break through in America.Oasis would eventually put out seven studio albums, finishing with "Dig Out Your Soul" in 2008. The following year, long standing tension between the Gallagher brothers, which had become one of the band's distinguishing characteristics, finally broke up the group.
