All five on board an Italian military transport plane were killed Monday in a crash in central Italy, the Italian Air Force said.
The Lockheed C130J military plane crashed shortly after take off from Pisa airport at 2:10 p.m. local time, causing an explosion and inferno.
The plane, which was from the 46th air force brigade, was on a training flight when it met with the accident.
The ANSA news agency quoted Pisa Mayor Marco Filippeschi as saying that rescuers have found the bodies of four of the plane's five crew members.
The cause of the crash was not known. Pisa airport, used by both military and civilian aircraft, has been temporarily closed down after the accident.
