In an interview for the latest issue of Rolling Stone, John Mayer confessed that he has "never really gotten over" his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston.

The singer told the magazine that if given the chance he would tell Aniston, "'I don't dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely well. But I have to back out of this because it doesn't arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life. This is not my ideal destiny.'"

He also admitted that his sex life "isn't all what everyone probably thinks it is."

Mayer and Aniston's on-and-off relationship officially ended in August 2008. He has also dated Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Minka Kelly.

Mayer has released four albums, the latest of which - Battle Studies - was released in 2009. He was awarded the best solo rock vocal performance for "Gravity" and the best male pop vocal performance for "Say" at the 2009 Grammy awards.
