Alicia Keys has scored her first ever U.K. number one with her new album, The Element of Freedom. The album moved up one spot on the Official Charts Company's survey, edging out Scottish pop star Paolo Nutini, whose Sunny Side Up has moved in and out of the number one spot three different times since its release last May.
The Element of Freedom has also hit number two on the Billboard 200 and number one on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The news comes at a busy time for Keys, who is preparing for the kick-off of her Freedom world tour on February 26 at ScotiaBank Place in Ottawa, Ontario.
The singer will also perform live at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on February 14. Usher and Shakira will join Keys at the event, which will air live at 8 PM Eastern Time on TNT.
