Canadian Dollar Advances Against Most Majors

The Canadian dollar traded higher against most of its major counterparts during New York afternoon trading on Tuesday. At 12:40 pm ET, the loonie climbed to a new multi-year high of 1.3906 against the euro and a fresh multi-week high of 1.0238 versus the US dollar, compared to yesterday's closing values of 1.4009 and 1.0275, respectively.

Against the Japanese yen, the loonie also edged up in New York mid-day deals from early morning session's multi-day low of 86.99, today. The loonie climbed to 87.93 versus the yen by about 12:40 pm ET, which may be compared to Monday's close of 87.95.
