Waste Management Inc.'s (WM) second-quarter net income attributable to the company amounted to $246 million or $0.51 per share, compared with $247 million or $0.50 per share last year.
Excluding items, net income would have been $261 million or $0.54 per share in the recent quarter versus $256 million or $0.52 per share in the previous year.
Revenue for the second quarter of 2010 was $3.16 billion compared with $2.95 billion for the same 2009 period, an increase of 7.0%.
The company said it is confident that it is on track to meet its prior announced full-year 2010 earnings guidance range of $2.09 - $2.13 per share.
