Slovak Industrial Production Growth Improves In April

Slovakia's industrial production grew at a faster pace in April, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed on Monday.

Production rose 2.2 percent year-on-year, following 1.3 percent growth in each of the previous two months. In January, industrial production increased 6.1 percent.

Manufacturing output grew 2.2 percent, while production rose 2.6 percent in mining and quarrying after declining in the previous two months. Output in the electricity, gas,

steam and air conditioning supply was 1.6 higher than last year.

Month-on-month, industrial production fell 1.9 % in April from the previous month.

Separately, the statistical agency reported that construction output declined 4.6 year-on-year in April. From March, output declined 0.5 percent on a seasonally adjusted

basis.
