The PMI is expected to show a score of 51.2 - down from 51.4 in November, but still above the 50 score that separates expansion from contraction.
Most of the regional bourses are closed for the New Year's holiday, including Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and South Korea.
