Australia Export Prices Sink 3.9% In Q3

Export prices in Australia were down 3.9 percent on quarter in the third quarter of 2014, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.

That beat expectations for a decline of 4.7 percent following the 7.9 percent tumble in the second quarter.

Import prices dipped 0.8 percent on quarter versus forecasts for an increase of 0.2 percent following the 3.0 percent decline in the previous three months.

On a yearly basis, export prices were down 9.5 percent and import prices fell 1.1 percent.
