South Korea Manufacturing Sector Continues To Contract - Nikkei

The manufacturing sector in South Korea continued to contract in January, and at a faster pace, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Friday with a manufacturing PMI score of 48.3.

That's down from 49.8 in December, and it moves further beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, sharper drops were seen in both output and new orders.

Export sales decreased for the sixth straight month, while concerns about the domestic economy dragged confidence lower.
