Ensign Group, Inc. (ENSG) announced that it purchased an 83-bed skilled nursing facility in Draper, Utah for approximately $3 million.
The company said that the facility was acquired from an affiliate of Oregon-based Westcare Management, Inc. The deal was signed in mid-2007, but the closing was delayed, as title issues on the real estate were resolved.
Ensign Group noted that an Ensign operating subsidiary was operating the facility under a short-term lease since July 2007, until the real estate closing. Further, the company said that the operating subsidiary would continue to operate the facility under a new long-term lease with the acquiring entity.
