RealNetworks, FremantleMedia Enterprises To Develop Million Dollar Password As Casual Game - Update

Network-delivered digital media products and services provider RealNetworks, Inc. (RNWK), Wednesday said it signed a multi-year licensing agreement with FremantleMedia Enterprises , the brand extension arm of FremantleMedia, to develop the CBS game show Million Dollar Password as an upcoming casual game title for online, PC, Mac and mobile platforms. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Seattle, Washington-based RealNetworks would release the mobilie phone version of the game this fall, based on the hit CBS game show hosted by Regis Philbin. The mobile and PC versions of Million Dollar Password puts the player in the game as the partner of a cartoon contestant.

Million Dollar Password premiered June 1st on CBS was the highest-rated new entertainment program on the network the season. The new primetime version of the classic game show garnered an average 10.6 million viewers each week and was recently renewed for fall 2008.

Matt Turetzky, vice president of content and non-PC platforms for RealNetworks' Games Division said, "Offering familiar, fun titles like this to consumers helps RealNetworks attract an ever-expanding audience of casual gamers wherever and whenever they're playing."

RNWK is currently trading at $6.25, up $0.17 or 2.80%, on a volume of 0.27 million shares.
