Dr. Reddy's Names Umang Vohra Finance Chief - Update

Pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (RDY) Friday announced the naming of Umang Vohra as the company's new chief financial officer.

Vohra, who joined Dr. Reddy's in 2002, takes the place left vacant by Saumen Chakraborty, chief financial officer for the past 2 1/2 years. Chakraborty has been assigned to take over the role of the newly created post of President - Corporate and Global Generics Operations.

The Hyderabad, India-based company noted that the "elevation" of Vohra from the post of Deputy Chief Financial Officer was part of its leadership development and transition program.

Chakraborty's responsibilities will now cover product development, manufacturing, and supply chain operations of the generics business. On the Corporate front, he will be responsible for the functioning of Quality, Regulatory, Corporate Medical Services, and Pharmacovigilance.

Vohra, who has more than 13 years of experience in various finance & corporate development functions, joins Dr. Reddy's from Pepsico, Inc. (PEP). Vohra has also worked for automobile maker Eicher Ltd.

Chakraborty has over 24 years of experience in strategic and operational aspects of management. He joined Dr. Reddy's in 2001 as the Global Head of HR.

RDY closed Wednesday's regular trading on NYSE at $9.80, down $0.01, or 0.10%, with a volume of 90,438 shares.
