Openwave Systems Inc. (OPWV) announced the appointment of John Giere as senior vice president, products and marketing, effective July 8. Giere will report to Openwave's CEO, Ken Denman.
Prior to Openwave, John served as chief marketing officer at Alcatel Lucent. He also held a number of senior marketing roles at Ericsson, including vice president, new business development; vice president, global branding and marketing; and executive vice president, business development and sales support. John currently serves on the Telecommunications Industry Association Executive Board.
