Treehouse Foods Set New High For Year Friday

Treehouse Foods Inc. (THS) reported second quarter EPS of $0.50 after the close Thursday, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.36. The company also increased its full year 2009 EPS forecast to between $2.02 and $2.07, from prior expectations of $1.82 to $1.87.

Treehouse Foods gapped up Friday and rose sharply in early trade, before settling into a narrow range. Shares closed up by $4.08 at $36.25 on the highest volume of the year. The stock surged past the upper end of a 2-week range and set a new high for the year.
