Friday, exploration and development company Uranium Resources, Inc. (URRE) said it appointed Donald Ewigleben as president, chief executive officer and chief operating officer, succeeding David Clark, who has resigned as president, chief executive officer and a director of the company, effective September 3, 2009.
The Lewisville, Texas-based company also said it named Ewigleben as a director to fill the vacancy on the board created by Clark's resignation. Clark has agreed to remain on as a consultant for the company until March 2010, said Uranium Resources.
Most recently, Ewigleben served as president and chief executive officer of AngloGold Ashanti North America, as well as executive officer of Sustainability & Legal Affairs for AngloGold Ashanti Americas.
Prior to this, he held senior management positions at Echo Bay Mines, AMAX Gold and AMAX Coal Industries. Ewigleben is a director and executive committee member of the National Mining Association.
URRE closed Thursday's regular trading at $0.95 per share on the Nasdaq.
