Oxford Industries Inc. (OXM) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.30 after the close Wednesday, down from the $0.37 reported last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.07. The company expects to report full year 2009 adjusted EPS of $0.90 to $1.05.
Oxford Industries gapped up sharply Thursday and climbed in early trade. The stock settled into a narrow range for the majority of the session and closed higher by $2.83 at $16.93 on the highest volume of the year. Shares broke out of a one-month range and set nearly an 11-month high.
