OMA August Terminal Passenger Traffic Falls - Quick Facts

Monday, Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA, (OMAB) reported that terminal passenger traffic at its 13 airports in August 2009 decreased 12.9% to 1.03 million from last year's 1.18 million. The company noted that total passenger traffic volumes during August decreased at a slower rate than during any prior month of the year, mainly due to the performance of domestic traffic.

Domestic traffic decreased 11% year-over-year to 896 thousand, and international traffic fell 24.1% to 132.7 thousand. The overall volume of domestic traffic was affected by the temporary suspension of operations of Aviacsa and the departure from the markets of Alma, Aladia and Avolar.
