Cymer Boosts Q3 Revenue Outlook - Update

Friday, Cymer, Inc. (CYMI), a supplier of light sources used by chipmakers to create semiconductor chips, boosted its revenue outlook for the third quarter amid increased demand and robust business conditions.

The San Diego, California headquartered company said it currently expects revenue for the third quarter to grow by about 30%, compared to its earlier forecast of a 15% increase in revenues from the second quarter of 2009.

Seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters currently expect the company to report revenues of $72.21 million for the third quarter. The company reported revenues of $62 million in the second quarter of 2009.

Demand for new light sources has increased and Installed Base Products revenue has continued to rise as business conditions in the lithography sector have strengthened, the company said.

The company's third quarter will end on September 30, and it intends to discuss its third quarter results and provide guidance for the fourth quarter on October 20.

CYMI is curently up $0.03 or 0.08% and trades at $36.84.
