Wolseley Plc. (WOS.L) announced its final results for the year ended 31 July 2009, reporting loss attributable to equity shareholders was £1.17 billion, compared to a profit of £74 million in the prior year.
Loss per share from continuing operations was 348.2 pence, compared to an earnings of 133.8 pence a year earlier.
Loss for the year attributable to equity shareholders, before exceptional items was £639 million, compared to a profit of £123 million in the previous year.
Loss before tax was £766 million, compared to a profit of £399 million last year. Loss before tax, before exceptional items, was £302 million, compared to a profit of £469 million a year ago.
Revenue for the year was £14.44 billion, down 2.5% from £14.81 billion a year earlier.
The company said that the board has not recommended payment of an ordinary dividend in relation to the year ending 31 July 2009.
