First Solar To Join S&P 500 - Update

Standard & Poor's on Thursday announced changes to U.S. Indices. It said S&P 500 constituent News Corp. (NWSA) would replace drug maker Wyeth Corp. (WYE) in the S&P 100. First Solar Inc. (FSLR), a maker of solar modules, would replace Wyeth in the S&P 500 on a date to be announced.

Wyeth is being acquired by S&P 100 & 500 constituent drug giant Pfizer Inc. (PFE).

NWSA settled at $11.35 on Thursday, down 5.10% from the previous close, but rose 5.37% to $11.96 in the after-hours trading.

FSLR, which closed Thursday's regular trade lower by 5.95% at $143.76, surged 6.33% in the extended trade to $152.86.
