CGI Federal Gets 7-Yr US Environmental Protection Agency BPA Contract - Update

Business process service provider CGI Federal Inc., a wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc., (GIB, GIB.A) said on Monday that it has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to receive a blanket purchase agreement with EPA's Office of Environmental Information.

The Montreal, Canada-based company said the deal includes a US$955 million ceiling value over the blanket purchase agreement's period of performance and positions and was awarded to seven vendors for a period of seven-years.

As per the deal, CGI will deliver IT infrastructure support services to Environmental Protection Agency under the newly established ITS-EPA II program. The company would also assist Office of Environmental Information in achieving more innovative, agile, and scalable IT services for the ITS-EPA II program.

"With this newly awarded BPA, CGI continues its rich 30+ year history of providing innovative IT services to the Agency," said CGI Federal Vice-President Kenyon Wells.

In August, CGI signed a 4-year, $78 million extension, as per the provisions of the Engineering and Technical Services or ETS contract it currently holds with the Government of Canada. The extension was in addition to the initial $91.8 million contract which was awarded to CGI following a competitive Request for Proposal or RFP process.

GIB is currently trading at $11.84, up $0.05 or 0.42%, on the NYSE.
