American Eagle Outfitters Set New High For Year Thursday

American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) announced Thursday morning that its September same store sales were flat with the prior year period. The company now expects to report third quarter EPS of $0.24 to $0.26, compared to prior expectations of $0.22 to $0.25. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $0.20.

American Eagle Outfitters gapped up at the open Thursday and climbed throughout the first half of the session. Shares finished up by $1.48 at $18.14 on the highest volume of the year. The stock rose above a one-month range and set a new high for the year.
