Wednesday, Knight Capital Group Inc. (NITE) said its third-quarter net income declined to $29.22 million or $0.31 per share from $36.29 million or $0.40 per share in the prior year period. On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.39 per share for the quarter.
Income from continuing operations for the quarter decreased to $30.47 million or $0.32 per share from $41.10 million or $0.46 per share in the year-ago period.
Total revenues for the quarter rose to $299.93 million from $240.77 million in the comparable period. Revenues from continuing operations for the quarter were $299.9 million, compared with $240.8 million in the previous year. Analysts estimated revenues of $282.04 million for the quarter.
