Freddie Mac (FRE) announced that total mortgage portfolio increased at an annualized rate of 0.8% in September. The aggregate unpaid principal balance of mortgage-related investments portfolio was $784.2 billion at September 30, 2009, up from $779.4 billion at August 31, 2009. Refinance-loan purchase volume was $21.4 billion in September, down from $35.6 billion in August.
