Norsk Hydro ASA (NHYDY.PK) said its third-quarter income from continuing operations soared to NOK 1.00 billion from NOK 233 million in the year earlier period. Underlying loss from continuing operations for the quarter was NOK 1.22 billion versus a profit of NOK 1.07 billion in 2008.
Earnings per share from continuing operations grew significantly to NOK 0.83 from NOK 0.06 in the prior year period. Underlying loss per share from continuing operations was NOK 1.01 in comparison with a profit of NOK 0.75 last year.
However, revenue for the latest quarter slid to NOK 16.34 billion from NOK 21.76 billion in the comparable period.
