Waters Corporation (WAT) reported third quarter net income of $75.94 million or $0.79 per share, compared to $71.5 million or $0.71 per share last year.
On a non-GAAP basis, earnings per share were up 3% to $0.81 in the third quarter of 2009 from $ 0.79 in the third quarter of 2008.
Net sales declined to $373.96 million from $386.31 million in the prior year quarter.
On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.77 per share, on revenues of $363.52 million. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
