Crane Co. (CR) reported third quarter EPS of $0.60 after the close Monday, which came in above the consensus estimate of $0.48.
Crane Co. gapped up at the open Tuesday and rose sharply in early trade. Shares settled into a range for the majority of the session and closed up by $4.11 at $30.59 on the highest volume in nearly a year. The stock broke out of a 3-week range and set a new high for the year.
