Thursday, Brink's Co. (BCO) reported third-quarter net income of $34 million or $0.72 per share, compared to net income of $48 million or $1.03 per share in the same quarter last year.
Earnings from continuing operations for the quarter was $33 million or $0.70 per share, compared to $30 million or $0.64 per share in the year ago quarter.
Excluding items, net income was $14 million or $0.29 per share, compared to $20 million or $0.41 per share in the same quarter last year.
On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.49 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenue for the quarter was $802 million, down from $813 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $780.23 million for the quarter.
